Château Cheval Blanc is a Premier Grand Cru Classé A estate in Saint-Émilion, classified in 1954 when the wines of Saint-Emilion were first classified. Its 56 plots of clay, gravel and sand are mainly planted with Cabernet Franc, with some Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery, designed by Christian de Portzamparc and inaugurated in 2011, vinifies each plot separately in 67 concrete vats.
