Soalheiro

Founded in 1974 in the high Monção e Melgaço valley by the Cerdeira family, Soalheiro is the original benchmark for Portugal's most prestigious white grape — Alvarinho — and one of the very first dedicated Alvarinho producers in the country. The modern visitor centre includes a tasting room with views over the granite-terraced vineyards, a winery tour, and the Cozinha do Soalheiro restaurant, where the estate's wines are paired with riverine fish and Minho cuisine. Tastings often include the iconic Soalheiro Primeiras Vinhas (old vines) and the experimental Granit pet-nat.

Founded in 1974 by the parents of João Cerdeira; it was the first estate to bottle varietal Alvarinho in Monção.
