In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, initially focused on grain trade. By 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they distinguished themselves with the rigor and expertise devoted to Port wine, raising the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international acclaim. Burmester can be regarded as a specialist in vintages, offering magnificent harvests that it releases regularly. Still, its Vintage Ports are of outstanding quality, showcasing their splendour in the best years. At the turn of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to preserve brands created five centuries ago. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
