This Douro wine is an exclusive product that comes from a private bottling by António Marques Cruz, from the 1908 harvest. Fortified (liqueur) wines are those in which alcoholic fermentation is stopped by adding grape spirit at a specific point during fermentation. Depending on when the fermentation is halted and on the grape variety used, the wine can be more or less sweet. The final alcohol content of fortified wines typically ranges from 19–22 %.
