Starting out in the Port wine market as a trader, he quickly set up a business that would prove prosperous and forward‑looking. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born—a pivotal figure in the wine world, recognized as one of the most influential personalities working for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his own legacy with those who constantly create bold wines.
