Everything began in 1918 when Manoel Domingues Poças Jr., born in the midst of the Port wine craze, decided to start his own business. At about 30 years old, Manoel Poças already had some experience in the field, and together with his uncle he founded a company that supplied brandies to major Port wine producers. Years later he set up the headquarters of his business in Vila Nova de Gaia, where it has remained ever since. The entire Poças family shared their passion for wine, blending respect for tradition with an open mind toward the innovations brought by newer generations. Today, with three estates in the best locations of the Douro Demarcated Region, Poças has complete control over the quality of its wines. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
