In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the grain trade. Later, in 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they stood out for the rigor and knowledge they devoted to Port wine, raising the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. We can consider Burmester an expert in harvests, with magnificent yields at its disposal that it regularly releases. Yet its Port Vintages are of excellent quality, showcasing their splendor in great vintage years. At the turn of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to immortalise brands created five centuries ago.
