The Vintage designation is the highest classification that can be awarded to a Port wine. A wine is considered Vintage if it comes from the harvest of a single year and a single vineyard (usually of the same variety), and the designation is awarded only in years deemed to be of exceptional quality. It undergoes aging in the barrel for a maximum period of two and a half years, after which it is aged in bottle. The bottling year may not correspond to the image shown. (Illustrative image only)
