In the national wine landscape, no producer enjoys more consensus than Niepoort, and its long history begins in 1842 with the first Van Der Niepoort to arrive in Portugal. Entering the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the 5th generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an indispensable figure in the world of wine and one of the most important personalities who has worked, and still works, for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with several dozen producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his own legacy with those for whom he is always creating irreverent wines.
