Founded in 1859 by António Alves Cálem, Porto Cálem remained in the same family for four generations and always paid great attention to producing quality Port wines, earning recognition from the wine world as a whole. With its famous "Velhotes" Port range, launched in 1934, it gained national prominence and became the number one selling brand in Portugal, with more than 3 million bottles sold every year. Today, Cálem belongs to the Sogevinus Group, which continues to perpetuate brands created five centuries ago. (illustrative image only)
