In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the grain trade. Later, in 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they stood out for the rigor and expertise devoted to Port wine, elevating the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. Burmester can be considered a specialist in harvests, boasting magnificent vintages at its disposal and releasing them regularly. Their Vintage Ports are of excellent quality, shining in the finest years. At the end of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to immortalise brands created five centuries ago.
