The Vintage designation is the highest classification that can be given to a Port wine. A wine is classified as Vintage when it comes from a single harvest year and a single vineyard (usually of the same variety) and is only awarded in years deemed of exceptional quality. The wine is aged in oak casks for a maximum of two and a half years and is then further matured in bottle. The bottling year may not match the image shown. (Image for illustration only)
