The Vintage designation is the highest classification that can be awarded to a Port wine. A wine is considered Vintage when it comes from a single year's harvest and a single vineyard (normally of the same grape variety), and the label is only applied in years deemed to be of exceptional quality. It undergoes aging in cask for a maximum of two and a half years, after which it is further aged in bottle. The bottling year may not match the image shown (illustrative image only).
