In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the grain trade. Later, in 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port Wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they stood out for the rigor and knowledge they devoted to Port Wine, elevating the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. Burmester can be considered a specialist in harvests, with magnificent harvests at its disposal that it releases regularly. Yet its Vintage Ports are of excellent quality, showcasing their splendor in outstanding vintage years. At the turn of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to immortalize brands created five centuries ago.
