Description

The name William Warre first emerges in connection with the Port wine trade, following the 1729 establishment of Messrs. Clark, Thorn & Warre, a venture built on a long family tradition linked to Port production dating back to 1670. The young Warre, who had served under the Duke of Wellington during the Peninsular War against the Napoleonic invasions, was set to play a decisive role through his contacts in boosting the brand—by the late 18th century Warre & Sons already accounted for 10 % of all Port exports in 1791. The bottling year may not match the picture shown (illustrative only). Exclusive online campaign runs from 14 May 2026 to 5 June 2026 at 11:59 p.m., limited to existing stock and not cumulative with other active campaigns.
