In the national wine scene, there is no producer more popular than Niepoort, and its long history began in 1842 when the first Van Der Niepoort arrived in Portugal. When he entered the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and successful. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an indispensable producer in the wine world, recognized as one of the most important figures who has worked—and continues to work—for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also shaping his own legacy alongside those who continually create bold, unconventional wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort collaborates on many other projects, in almost all national wine regions and some abroad. The bottling year may not match the image shown (illustrative only).
