Everything began in 1918, when Manoel Domingues Poças Junior, born amid the chaos of Port wine production, decided to start his own business. At about 30 years old, Manoel Poças had some experience in the field and, together with his uncle, founded a company that supplied brandies to major Port wine producers. Years later he moved the headquarters of his business to Vila Nova de Gaia, where it remains to this day. The entire Poças family shared their passion for wine, blending respect for tradition with an open mind toward the innovations brought by new generations. Today, with three estates in the finest locations of the Douro Demarcated Region, Poças exercises full control over the quality of its wines.
