He entered the Port wine market as a merchant and quickly established a business that would prove both prosperous and forward‑looking. In the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born—a prominent figure in the world of wine, recognized as one of the most influential personalities who has worked, and continues to work, for the benefit of Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also building his own legacy alongside those who constantly create bold wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort is involved in many other projects across virtually all Portuguese wine regions and some overseas ones. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
