The Vintage designation is the highest classification that can be given to a Port wine. A wine is considered Vintage if it comes from a single year's harvest and a single vineyard (usually of the same grape variety), and this designation is awarded only in years judged to be of exceptional quality. It is aged in cask for a maximum of two and a half years, after which it is aged in bottle. The bottling year may not match the image shown. (illustrative image only)
