The wines of Quinta do Infantado are produced, aged, and bottled on the estate, located on the northern bank of the Douro, near Pinhão, in the Gontelho sub‑region—an area long renowned for the excellence of its vineyards. At the end of the 19th century, the estate was acquired by João Lopes Roseira, an ancestor of the current owners. Since then, the Roseira family has steadily expanded the vineyard area and focused on the production and ageing of Fine Wines. In 1979, the first Quinta Port wines were released, reviving a very old tradition that had been lost for more than fifty years. The estate covers roughly 23 hectares of vines, classified with the highest rating in the Demarcated Douro Region (Class A). This status has inspired the family to refine traditional winemaking techniques in the press and, capitalising on the excellent grapes produced there, to create natural Port wines of the utmost quality.
