Starting out in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born—a pivotal figure in the wine world, recognized as one of the most important contributors to Portuguese wine. He has worked with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also building his own legacy alongside those who always create irreverent wines.
