Founded in 1859 by António Alves Cálem, Porto Cálem remained in the same family for four generations and always paid close attention to producing high‑quality Port wines, earning recognition from the entire wine world. With its famous line of “Velhotes” Port, launched in 1934, it gained national prominence, becoming Portugal’s number‑one brand with more than 3 million bottles sold each year.
