Wiese & Krohn was founded in 1865 by two young Norwegians, Theodor Wiese and Dankert Krohn, with the goal of exporting Port wine to Scandinavian markets and Germany. Today the company, now operating simply as Krohn, is run by the third generation of the Carneiro family—specifically Edmundo Falcão Carneiro’s descendants—who have overseen the firm’s wine exports since 1910.
