Everything began in 1918, when Manoel Domingues Poças Júnior—born in the heart of the Port wine chaos—decided to establish his own venture. Around 30 years old, Manoel Poças already had some industry experience, and together with his uncle set up a company that supplied brandies to major Port wine producers. Years later, he moved the company’s headquarters to Vila Nova de Gaia, where it remains to this day. The entire Poças family embraced their passion for wine, blending respect for tradition with a willingness to adopt innovations brought by newer generations. Today, with three estates in the finest locations of the Douro Demarcated Region, Poças exercises full control over the quality of its wines. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
