In the national wine landscape, there is no producer more universally respected than Niepoort, whose long history began in 1842 when the first Van Der Niepoort arrived in Portugal. Entering the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an indispensable figure in the world of wine and one of the most important personalities who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with several dozen producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also shaping his legacy alongside those with whom he is always creating irreverent wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort is involved in many other projects across nearly all of Portugal's wine regions and in some abroad. The bottling year may not correspond to the image shown.
