Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world, guided by a long‑term vision rooted in the quality of the wines sold, the importance of brand novelty, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the objective set at its inception: to be a family‑owned company with an international outlook, focused on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands that compete on a global level. The company manages around 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. Offley, founded in London in 1737 by William Offley, began as a wine trading house. It soon started exporting wines and later produced its own Port wine, earning the brand worldwide recognition as a producer of high‑quality wines. A decisive moment for the company’s growth came when Joseph James Forrester joined as a partner. Known as Baron Forrester, he played a pivotal role in expanding the international trade of Port wine and was the first to map the Douro River and its valley, a feat that earned him recognition and admission into several European societies of Geography and the Arts.
