In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the grain trade. Later, in 1750, now based in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they distinguished themselves through the rigour and expertise they devoted to Port wine, raising the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. Burmester can be considered a specialist in harvests, with magnificent vintages at its disposal, which it releases regularly. Even so, its Vintage Ports are of excellent quality, showing their splendour in great vintage years. At the end of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to perpetuate brands created five centuries ago. The bottling year may not correspond to the image shown.
