Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision built on the quality of the wines it sells, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑owned, internationally focused company dedicated to producing quality wines, driving innovation, and developing Portuguese brands of global standing. The company manages around 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. Offley, founded in London in 1737 by William Offley, began as a wine trading house. It quickly started exporting wines and later produced its own Port, giving the brand worldwide recognition as a producer of high‑quality wines. A decisive moment for the company’s expansion came when Joseph James Forrester joined as a partner. Known as Baron Forrester, he played a key role in expanding the international trade of Port wine and was the first to map the Douro River and valley, earning him recognition and membership in several European societies of Geography and the Arts.
