Situated on the right bank of the Douro River, between Régua and Pinhão, Quinta do Crasto spans roughly 130 hectares, of which 70 are planted with vineyards. The estate’s portfolio also includes Quinta do Querindelo, with 10 hectares of Vinha Velha (old vines), and Quinta da Cabreira in the Upper Douro, which boasts 114 hectares of vineyards. With its privileged location in the Demarcated Region of Douro, Quinta do Crasto has been owned by the Roquette family—Leonor and Jorge—for more than a century. As is typical with the great quintas of the Douro, the origins of Quinta do Crasto reach back to long ago; the name “Crasto” derives from the Latin *castrum*, meaning Roman fort.
