Description

The Pacheca Estate, one of the most renowned properties in the Douro, is noted for being among the first to bottle its own branded wines. Its name has been mentioned since April 17, 1738, when a dated document first refers to the “da Pacheca” estate, because its owner at the time was D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira. However, it was only in 1903 that D. José Freire de Serpa Pimentel decided to pursue his growing interest in enology, purchasing the property with the aim of dedicating himself to viticulture and winemaking. Today, a century later, the new generation of the Serpa Pimentel family runs the estate: Maria, Catarina, and José are the young faces of this family‑run business.
