Quinta do Portal is a Portuguese, family‑owned, independent company that has embraced the “Boutique Winery” concept with passion. In addition to producing special‑category Douro wines and Port, it also focuses exclusively on Moscatel do Douro and olive oil. The project took shape in the early 1990s, building on the historic Quinta dos Muros—a century‑old estate belonging to the Mansilha family—where Port had been produced for four generations. With a forward‑looking vision, they immediately set out to create internationally‑class Douro wines, joining the first wave of the new generation of Douro producers who prioritize quality. Sustainability has since become part of daily life at Quinta do Portal. The vineyards are managed under Integrated Production, which requires compliance with specific standards to ensure environmental protection. The estate is also a member of The Porto Protocol, a movement whose values are Sustainability, Optimism and Sharing, promoted through Responsibility, Collaboration and Commitment, and that encourages companies to unite and act together to mitigate and reverse climate change.
