Very few producers, especially in Madeira wine, have experienced a revolution in their history as significant as the one that happened with Barbeito. From being a bulk wine supplier to becoming a benchmark of the Madeira wine region in one go is an achievement. Everything began in 1991 when Ricardo Freitas joined the family business and, together with the Japanese Kinoshita partners, decided to turn Barbeito into one of the most important producers of Madeira wine.
