The legendary Quinta de Roriz has undergone a true qualitative revolution in recent years, reclaiming its well‑deserved place among the finest producers of the Douro and of Portugal. This famous, beautiful, and historic estate now belongs to the Symington family of Porto Graham's. Located on the left bank of the Douro in a natural amphitheater, the winery’s vineyards range from 125 to 500 metres above sea level. Quinta de Roriz spans more than 200 hectares of vines, of which 42 hectares are planted with “A”‑rated vines. Its soils contain traces of tin mixed with predominantly clayey material derived from old regional mines, giving the wines a pronounced mineral character. The estate’s proximity to the Douro River means cooler nights during grape ripening, which enhances the intensity of aromatic qualities that are readily apparent in its wines.
