The 2010 Vinho do Porto Colheita from Krohn is aged in wood for at least seven years, developing a mahogany colour and a fine, complex bouquet with notes of walnuts and hazelnuts and a silky texture. Wiese & Krohn was founded in 1865 by two young Norwegians, Theodor Wiese and Dankert Krohn, based on exporting Vinho do Porto to the Scandinavian markets and to Germany. Today, Wiese & Krohn—now simply Krohn—is run by the third generation of the family of Edmundo Falcão Carneiro, who had managed the firm’s wine exports since 1910.
