This 2011 Graham’s Port, from an extraordinary year in the Douro, was crafted from a selection of traditional Douro grapes – Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Sousão, Tinta Amarela – blended with other old-vine varieties. Twelve years of ageing in oak casks has imparted remarkable complexity. On the nose it offers seductive aromas of caramel, English cake and marmalade, with hints of maple syrup. In the mouth it delivers a round, rich texture where the fruit is evident, yet combined with the complex notes from ageing – dried fruit, nutmeg, cigar box and tea. The finish is intense and long. Founded in 1820, Graham’s owns two of the best estates in the Douro Valley: Quinta dos Malvedos and Quinta do Tua, producing wines of exceptional quality, structure, richness and complexity. Graham’s is an independent company, 100% owned by the Symington family, producers of Port wine since the 19th century, whose ancestors were involved in the first Port exports in 1652.
