The introduction of a new Vintage Port of exceptional quality to the Niepoort portfolio, Bioma Vinha Velha gives us the opportunity to create, or recreate, a style of Vintage that not only respects the terroir but also takes us back to the golden age of Port wine. At the heart of the Bioma "Vinha Velha" concept is a very special vineyard (Vinha da Pisca), in a very special part of the Douro region. Bioma Vinha Velha offers, in small quantities, an old-fashioned way of vinifying a Vintage, similar to the Vintage Ports of 1970 and earlier, bottled in England. The exceptional quality of the old vines of Vinha da Pisca seems to express its sense of place magnificently when we apply to it the "logic" of earlier times.
