The legendary Quinta de Roriz has undergone a genuine quality revolution in recent years, reclaiming its well‑deserved place among the top producers in the Douro and Portugal. This historic, beautiful estate on the Douro is now owned by the Symington family of Porto Graham’s. Set on the left bank of the Douro in a natural amphitheatre, the vineyard plots span altitudes between 125 and 500 metres. Roriz covers more than 200 hectares of vines, 42 of which are planted with “A”‑class vineyards. The soils contain traces of tin mixed into a predominantly xistose terrain sourced from old regional mines, giving the wines a pronounced mineral edge. Its proximity to the Douro River creates cooler nights during grape ripening, enhancing aromatic intensity that is readily noticeable in its wines.
