This 2012 Borges Soalheira Vintage Port is made from grapes sourced from the estate that gives it its name and crafted by SVB’s lead winemaker, José Maria Machado. It shows a deep, intense ruby colour, and on the nose the presence of dark fruits such as blackberries and ripe black plums is striking. The aroma is floral, with violet notes and a fresh, resinous sensation reminiscent of mint and eucalyptus. Founded in 1884 by brothers António and Francisco, the Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges quickly became one of Portugal’s leading wine companies. Recognising that only through excellence can Portuguese wines stand out on the world stage, Borges has always emphasised quality, and its production is now exported to more than fifty countries across five continents.
