In the national wine landscape, no producer is more widely respected than Niepoort, and its long history begins in 1842, when the first Van Der Niepoort arrived in Portugal. Entering the Port wine trade as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the 5th generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an indispensable figure in the world of wine and recognized as one of the most important people who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with several dozen producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his own legacy alongside those with whom he is constantly creating irreverent wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort takes part in many other projects, across virtually all of Portugal's wine regions and in some foreign ones. The bottling year may not correspond to the image shown.
