Quinta do Portal is a family-owned, independent Portuguese company that has embraced the concept of the "Boutique Winery" with great passion. In addition to producing Douro wines and special-category Port wines, it is also dedicated exclusively to the production of Douro Moscatel and olive oil. The project took shape in the early 1990s and was founded on Quinta dos Muros, a century-old property of the Mansilha family, where Port wine had been produced for four generations. With a forward-looking vision, the family immediately committed to creating Douro wines of international class, becoming part of the first group of a new generation of Douro producers focused on the quality of their products. Sustainability has likewise become part of everyday life at Quinta do Portal, where the vineyards are under Integrated Production, a system that requires adherence to specific standards aimed at ensuring environmental protection. The estate is also a member of The Porto Protocol, a movement whose values are Sustainability, Optimism, and Sharing, expressed through Responsibility, Collaboration, and Commitment, and which promotes a world where companies join forces and act together to slow and reverse climate change.
