The family has a deep connection to the vineyard dating back to the era of the Marquis of Pombal, and the current generation was inspired to launch this “small project.” Monte do Mata Mouros is a small plot of land situated on a foothill of the Serra d’Ossa, overlooking the Ribeira de Tera valley. There, high‑quality grape varieties were planted under conditions of great austerity, resulting from exceptional microclimates and the area’s skeletal, stony soils. The philosophy that guides its viticultural and enological practices is based on the freedom of expression of the vineyard, which is considered unique.
