In the national wine landscape, no producer enjoys more consensus than Niepoort, and its long history begins in 1842 with the arrival in Portugal of the first Van Der Niepoort. Entering the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the 5th generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an indispensable figure in the world of wine and recognized as one of the most important personalities who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He collaborated with several dozen producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his own legacy by constantly creating irreverent wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort participates in many other projects, across virtually all of Portugal's wine regions and some abroad. The bottling year may not correspond to the image shown.
