The Niepoort LBV Porto results from a careful selection of wines that mature for several years before bottling, in a category created to provide the complexity of a port with extended ageing yet ready to drink when it hits the market. In the nose it offers a bouquet of fresh figs and a subtle floral character, coupled with vibrant red fruits. Menthol undertones also appear, lending a crispness and a gentle spicy nuance that deepen the overall experience. On the palate it opens with an enveloping sweetness, revealing layers of fruit that gradually evolve into a drier, spiced finish. Balanced acidity imparts freshness and supports its elegant structure, presenting a profile that is simultaneously bold, delicate, and complex, with flavours unfolding harmoniously from start to finish. In Portugal’s wine panorama, no producer is more consensual than Niepoort, whose long history began in 1842 with the arrival of the first Van Der Niepoort.
