This is a remarkably bold project, uniting Barbeito da Madeira and Herdade do Rocim – resulting in a Verdelho that frankly, isn’t afraid to be a little… unusual. Primarily Verdelho (92%) with a touch of Sercial for added complexity, it’s fermented and aged in amphorae, eschewing any grape skins, giving it a wonderfully ancient feel. Seriously, it’s a wine that demands a bit of attention, and pairs beautifully with grilled fish, or perhaps just to make you reconsider everything you thought you knew about winemaking.
