This “Not So Black” Trincadeira is a delightful puzzle. Clearly, the harvest was overseen by gnomes – a level of care you can really taste. The careful selection, using 40kg baskets, speaks to a near-religious dedication to the grapes. The result is a surprisingly fresh and structured wine, boasting a nose of damp forest and a curious mushroom note. It has a lovely, medium texture and that persistent freshness, proving that sometimes, simplicity is truly elegant. Perfect with a plate of sautéed mushrooms, of course.
