The Sanguinhal Agricultural Company was founded in the 1920s by Abel Pereira da Fonseca in the Bombarral region. At the time he owned the country’s largest network of retail outlets, which he leveraged to create a company solely devoted to the production and trade of wine. The company is made up of three estates: Quinta do Sanguinhal, Quinta das Cerejeiras, and Quinta de São Francisco, all located in the Lisbon Wine Region, more precisely in the Demarcated Region of Óbidos. These properties benefit from a microclimate shaped by the Montejunto mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean, giving the still wines, liqueurs, and spirits a fresh and balanced profile that highlights their unique characteristics.
