Depending on its age, wines may show signs left by time, such as dust traces on the bottles and/or some damage to the labels—common in wines stored for decades. Garrafeira Nacional is committed to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, yet always preserves the visual appearance inherent to their age. We usually select brands/regions that perform well in vintage wine competitions. However, wine is a living organism that, like all, is exposed to time, and even inside a bottle its aromas evolve differently. Therefore, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, as it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open and let the bottle breathe beforehand, helping to release its natural aromas after so many years closed. Avoid decanting, as it could be too aggressive for old wines.
