The Regional Wine Cellar of Colares, founded in 1931, is the country’s oldest cooperative cellar. Today it brings together most of the producers in the Colares Demarcated Region, playing an important social role in the Sintra municipality. As a local cooperative cellar, it places great emphasis on protecting and preserving the Colares Wine Culture, its unique grape varieties, and its traditional cultivation methods. Its winemaking philosophy is built on an imperative respect for the Colares terroir, continuing the work of its ancestors.
