This Martha’s Vínica Velha brandy is a delightfully puzzling enigma, aged exclusively in oak barrels – and, rather unusually, amongst spent Port wines for decades. The result is a riot of intense aromas of spices and dried fruits, a truly unexpected flourish. Remarkably smooth and noble, it begs to be paired with a selection of aged cheeses. A lingering finish, certainly encouraging a repeat indulgence.
