Alfred Gratien’s champagnes are crafted by hand, a testament to unwavering quality and a distinctly individual approach. For over a century and a half, this family-run house has remained steadfast, preserving the expertise of its founder. Remarkably, Gratien is one of the few houses – alongside Krug – that exclusively employs barrel aging, a tradition passed down through four generations of cellar masters, beginning with Gaston Jaeger’s stewardship in 1905. Today, Nicolas, his grandson, continues this legacy, safeguarding the house’s exceptional holdings of Grand Cru champagne.
